Welcome to North Canton City
Quaint and charming, North Canton is everything a midwest city should be – community-centric, leafy and tranquil, and full of warm, friendly neighbors. North Canton began its life in 1805 when German settlers arrived in the leafy forest land and embarked on a journey to create a community. The work of clearing the wooded areas and building a town inspired the strong work ethic for which Midwesterners are now known, and by 1830, a glimmer of modern-day North Canton began to shine through with a tiny village, a few homes, and a rough outline of a town proper. Less than a year later, North Canton had really cleaned up its act – in 1908, William Hoover started the famous vacuum company and went on to become the town’s first mayor.
Today, North Canton enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a delightful spot with a small-town feel, a serene respite from hectic city life, and a central location ideal for professionals and families alike. Nestled between Akron and Cleveland, North Canton is close enough for a day trip out of town, and so vibrant you may not want to leave – especially given the real estate. Homes here act as sanctuaries, with large, sprawling lawns, luxe features, like spacious, light-filled kitchens and sleek, modern designs, and stunning outdoor spaces. There are also the smaller city homes which can be found at a much more affordable price nestled close to the Hoover Square in the charming town area of North Canton. The North Canton library is perfectly sized and conveniently located in the square and features local clubs/groups as well as showcases artwork from local students and artists. North Canton is also home to Walsh University
