Welcome to Tallmadge
Historic beauty and a hometown feel in a suburban Akron paradise
Back in 1944, Life featured the town of Tallmadge on its iconic pages, splashing a photo on the magazine’s cover of the gorgeous Greek Revival-style Tallmadge Historic Church. The article marked a national recognition of Tallmadge as a historic landmark city, but of course, this beautiful spot had been boasting impressive structures long before. Grand architectural styles and historic beauty are hallmarks of this suburban paradise, and they create a stunning backdrop for quaint living and a warm, hometown feel.
Originally known by the unassuming name of “Town 2, Range 10,” Tallmadge was modeled after New England style designs and was eventually named for Benjamin Tallmadge, a Revolutionary War figure. Today, Tallmadge is the picture of idyllic small-town life, with rolling hills, lush landscaping, and a particularly exciting real estate market. Sprawling lots are the norm here, and homes range from sweet, cozy cottages to spacious, uniquely designed layouts perfect for entertaining and family life.
